The Korean story
Tremella, often called snow mushroom or silver ear, is a soft, jelly-like fungus long used in East Asian kitchens.
In Korean skincare it picked up a nickname: a plant-based cousin of hyaluronic acid. That is a comparison of how it feels on skin, not a claim that the two are the same. It became a familiar name in Korean toners, essences and creams aimed at plump, dewy-looking skin.
What it does
Snow mushroom extract is rich in polysaccharides, which are water-loving sugars.
They help skin hold onto moisture and feel soft and cushioned. It leaves a light, slightly bouncy film on the surface. Skin looks fresher and more hydrated.
Who it suits
Suits most skin types, especially dry or dehydrated skin.
Its light feel works well in humid Indian summers, and layers easily under sunscreen.
